What trumped my experience was the instructions. Not very well put together and not user friendly, for beginner especially. I am a first timer, and wanted to go the DIY route to save a bit of money, but after attempting to install Alva shades, made me reconsider in the future to maybe just go with a professional instead. But I felt, Alva should provide instructions from the A-Z, from explaining and illustrating each mechanism or part, to the step by step to install or detach or swap...manual needs to be more thorough. Instructions should include how to remove shades and brackets, in case we ever decide to swap shade style etc..
Installed the shade, and within 3 pulls, chain broke. Not really strong chain material used. Although customer service has sent me a replacement chain which I really appreciate, but I still feel a bit deflated from the whole experience. I probably will be scratching my head trying to figure out how to take off the shade just to replace this chain.
One of my shades, had some visual defects, not sure was it during production, but there was some dirt trapped between the shade and the bottom bar, so it made the shades look dirty and I cannot remove the dust either.
Can't really say my experience with the product was good, I'm more worried than happy with my purchase.
